California Smartscape is a DBA of Best Contracting LLC. We operate calsmartscape.com under California contractor licence CA# 1033262. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Best Contracting LLC. It says what we collect, why we collect it, who else sees it, and how to get it removed. If anything here is unclear, call (619) 913-2350 and ask.

1. Information we collect

Only what you type into a form, and only when you submit it. Depending on which form you use, that is:

Your name, email address and phone number — every form.
Your property address, city, state and ZIP — the consultation request, because we cannot quote a landscape or pool project without knowing where it is.
What you tell us about your project — your description, how you heard about us, and anything else you write.
Your answers in the pricing guide — project type, size, finish level and scope, plus the range they produced.
Employment details — if you apply through the careers page. Resumes and portfolios are sent to us by email rather than uploaded here.
Your IP address and the page you submitted from, recorded with your consent choices. This exists so that we can prove what you agreed to, and when.

We do not ask for, and have no use for, payment card details, government identifiers, or anything about your health or finances. Please do not send them through this website.

2. What this website does not do

There is no advertising pixel, no analytics tracker and no third-party script on this site. Nobody is profiling you here and there is nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing running.

The one thing stored on your device is the pricing guide: your selections are kept in your browser’s local storage so that refreshing the page does not lose your progress. That stays on your computer and is never sent anywhere unless you submit the form. Clearing your browser data removes it.

3. How we use your information

To answer you. Form submissions go into our customer records system (GoHighLevel, a US-based CRM) so that whoever picks up your enquiry can see what you asked for. We use your details to reply, to schedule a consultation, and to carry out work you engage us for. We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

The people who can see it are our own staff, and the service providers who run the systems we use — our CRM and our website host. They process it on our instructions and for no other purpose. We will also disclose information if the law requires it.

4. Information sharing and third-party services

We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We also do not sell or share mobile numbers or messaging consent with third parties for their marketing purposes — that is a separate promise, and carriers require it to be stated separately.

We do share it in four circumstances, and no others:

With our CRM provider, GoHighLevel, which is where enquiries are stored and where our staff read and reply to them. They process it on our instructions and for no other purpose.
With our website host, Vercel, which serves this site and passes your submission to that CRM.
With subcontractors or suppliers where they need it to carry out work you have engaged us for — a crane operator needs the address.
Where the law requires it, or to protect someone’s rights or safety.

5. Text messages and calls

The consent checkboxes on our forms are optional, and always will be. You can ask us for a quote without agreeing to be texted.

If you do not tick them, we mark your record so that our systems will not call, text or email you — which means we may have no way to answer your enquiry. If you do tick them, you are agreeing to one or both of:

Text me about my project — scheduling, appointment reminders and updates on work in progress.
Text me occasional offers, seasonal maintenance reminders and news about California Smartscape.

Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

You can withdraw consent at any time — reply STOP to any message, or email info@calsmartscape.com and ask. It takes effect on our side, not just on that one message.

6. Cookies and tracking

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, because it runs no advertising or analytics software. Your browser stores one thing on our behalf: the pricing guide keeps your selections in local storage so refreshing does not lose your progress, as described above. Clearing your browser data removes it. If we ever add analytics, this section changes before that goes live.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in our customer records so we can pick up a conversation you started months ago, which is normal for projects of this size and cost. Records relating to work we actually carried out are kept for as long as we may need them for warranty, licensing and tax purposes. If you want yours removed sooner, ask — see below.

8. Your rights and choices

Email info@calsmartscape.com or call (619) 913-2350 and you can ask us to:

tell you what we hold about you;
correct anything that is wrong;
delete it, unless we are required to keep it;
stop contacting you, on any or every channel.

We will not treat you differently for asking. California residents have these rights under state law; we extend them to everyone because maintaining two standards is a good way to get one of them wrong.

9. Children

This site is for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Data security

This site is served over HTTPS and submissions travel encrypted to our CRM. Access to those records is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something; what we can promise is that we do not keep more than we need, and that we do not pass it on.

11. Changes to this policy

If we start using a tool that collects something new — analytics, for example — this page changes before it goes live, and the date at the top changes with it.
