Outdoor kitchen and bar under a pergola, its back wall faced in white stacked-stone panels — White stacked-stone panels on the kitchen wall, under the pergola.

Natural stone

Stacked stone ledger panel

Thin strips of natural stone pre-assembled into panels, so the wall goes up as modules rather than stone by stone. The strong horizontal line is unmistakable, and it is the go-to face for a modern water wall.

What is true of this material

Supplied as: Pre-assembled panels of natural stone strips
Corners: Mitred corner pieces exist — without them the corner gives it away
Wet use: Common on water walls; sealing changes the colour, so decide first

Ask whoever bids this

“Are we using real mitred corner units, or is the corner just a butt joint?”
